Students Create Target For Driving Range

LPGA Pro, Cheri Rice-Cottelli of Egg Harbor Township is also a fifth grade teacher at the Dr Joyanne D Miller School. Recently she found a way to combine her love of golf with her love of teaching.

Together with Ronnie O’Toole of Ronnie’s Golf Hospital and Range on Northfield, their students were presented with the Driving Range STEM Challenge.

Jersey Devil Golf Targets were created by the 5th grade class of Cheri Rice-Cottelli. The fifth graders designed targets for the driving range which had to incorporate New Jersey’s most famous legend, the Jersey Devil. They had to create a budget, design the target for golfers to hit and the target had to have some type of movement/sound!  Combining everyone’s wonderful ideas the targets were created.  The class presentation and ideas were all remarkable and inspiring.
