Cooper Levenson Announces Early Start to Let Us Eat – Please Summer Feeding Program in Response to COVID-19 Needs


Community Food Bank of NJ and Let Us Eat – Please, Inc. team up to deliver food for 1,275 families

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (April 10, 2020)- Cooper Levenson, Attorneys at Law announced an early start to the summer feeding program led by ‘Let Us Eat – Please, Inc.,’ a member charity of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Southern Branch. Together, the charities have teamed up to deliver food to area school districts with families in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
“The attorneys in our Education Law Group learned that our client school districts have families in urgent need because of school closings during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kenneth J. Calemmo, Jr., Chairman of ‘Let Us Eat – Please, Inc.’ and Chief Operating Officer of Cooper Levenson, Attorneys at Law. “We are very pleased to be able to work with our local school districts and provide them with emergency boxes of food and vouchers that will each feed a family of four for 14 days – enough for a total of 53,550 meals,” he added.
This ‘Let Us Eat – Please, Inc.’ program will enable the Community FoodBank to deliver a total of 1,275 boxes of food and vouchers to school districts in Galloway Township, Somers Point, Egg Harbor City, and Egg Harbor Township. The program will provide enough food and vouchers for 53,550 meals. Delivery is scheduled for April 8, 2020.
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey, Southern Branch, is the state’s largest provider of donated foods to hundreds of partner charities. Let Us Eat -Please, Inc., is a program designed to ensure that underprivileged children get enough to eat during the summer months while out of school.
The joint efforts of these charities has become known for their signature fundraiser, the Captain’s Table, a VIP reception held at the Progressive Insurance Atlantic City Boat Show for the last six years. Many area businesses, 20 chefs from the American Culinary Federation, Professional Chef’s Association of South Jersey, area public school districts, and numerous volunteers produce the event, a major fundraiser for the charities.
