The Arc of Atlantic County to Hold Rally on June 10th for Athletes Heading to NJ Summer Games Competition

The Arc of Atlantic County has announced a Pep Rally & Send Off to celebrate athletes from Special Olympics NJ Area 8, who have qualified to compete in the 2022 Summer Games of the Special Olympics NJ from June 10 through June 12, 2022.

The pep-rally and send off will be held Friday, June 10th from at 10:45 am at The Arc’s main campus located in the Airport Commerce Center, 6550 Delilah Road, Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Buses will depart at 11:15 am. All members of the community are invited to attend.

Join the athletes, coaches, staff, families, and supporters of The Arc of Atlantic County to cheer on this year’s competitors as buses leave to transport the athletes to the 2022 Summer Games of the Special Olympics NJ, held at The College of New Jersey, Ewing, NJ.

The Arc of Atlantic County, in a partnership with the Special Olympics NJ Area 8 will send thirty-five athletes to compete in Track and Field and Bocce competitions, accompanied by their coaches and chaperones.

In addition to the staff and supporters from The Arc, community partners from AtlantiCare, Holy Redeemer and other businesses located in the Airport Commerce Center will be present for the first

time in two years, for this uplifting event. Flags, banners, posters, pom-poms, cow bells and enthusiastic spirits are encouraged! (Please, no air horns!)

“The athletes, their coaches and families have been training for the past few months to prepare for these competitive games,” said Scott Hennis, CEO, The Arc of Atlantic County. “We are delighted to host this pep rally again for our athletes, after a two-year hiatus, and send them off to experience the excitement of competition, camaraderie, and working to achieve their goals!” Hennis added.

The Arc of Atlantic County, through a partnership with the Special Olympics NJ, provides recreation activities and support to athletes who wish to compete in the Annual Summer Games. Weekly practices and coaching is provided by The Arc of Atlantic County through the Special Olympics of NJ – Area 8.
